Christmas pics and The Next Big Thing...

Noah loves his Legos!

Keely models one of her new tops and scarves, smartly paired with pj bottoms. :)

Lily received the doll from us, and the matching nightgown set from her Nana. So cute!

Rowan wanted the 'brown' doll for an adopted sister for her other doll. We all agreed that she was lovely with her dark curls.

Annes loves all things princess!

Daddy looks sleepy...I wonder why?

Sam looks on as Annes plays with his new toy.

This r/c Lightning McQueen has been pretty much all Joe's played with lately!

Can you tell I really like Sarah Groves? I still haven't really gotten to listen to this CD yet, though. Soon....

And now, with Christmas and New Year's over, we're looking forward to the next big thing....or should I say very little thing? Sometime in the next two or three weeks, we'll be meeting our new little baby boy or girl. I'm so excited!!

Thank you for all your kind words and prayers! And no, Liz, I have gained EVERYWhere, girl. That's okay, though, because I'll be tackling that issue later... :)

Hi! Lovely photos and how exciting your new blessing will arrive soon! I was wondering...for Christmas presents. do you budget and buy through the year, it's just that with us both having big families It's fun to know how other mums/dads do the present thing. I know this year we felt a little overwhelmed at it all and didn't buy much, instead thinking of making birthdays a bit more special. I do think of you often and wonder if we will ever meet in real life!! maybe when our hubbys retire we can fit in some world travel :-) Love,Sandra

Hi, Sandra! So good to hear from you! To answer your Christmas question, we do budget a small amount monthly to help cover Christmas expenses. It usually only covers about half, though, and we end up dipping into savings for the rest. However, one of our resolutions this year as a family is to tighten up things financially so we'll be in a better position to buy a home with some land, Lord willing, someday soon. So, we told the kids that Christmases are getting downsized to one gift for each child, plus some little stocking things. This year we did two gifts per child and lots of stuff for stockings, which wasn't exactly cheap. I think they understand and realize that we all have to work together to achieve our goals of saving more. We also cut allowances back slightly and told the kids that Mom and Dad's 'fun money' was also getting cut, so they don't think we aren't doing our part, too! :) I, too, hope we can meet someday in real life. Wouldn't that be great?! You know if your are ever in the states and close to 'the middle' that you must come visit!
