I agree, Candice. The picture was very touching. Having never dealt with this personally, it makes it a little harder to grasp, yet on the other hand, having 2 healthy pregnancies and watching my childen grow, I can't imagine giving that up. May the Lord heal the wounds of those women. And may our country see how wrong and how much trouble (physically and emotionally) abortions cause and put an end to them.
How could there not be emotional and mental consequences after the taking of a tiny life? Who do these people think they are kidding???? Lord, give them eyes to see and ears to hear...
I know, Melissa; all I can think is that their minds are so intent on rationalizing what they want to do that they don't allow themselves to really weigh the issue.
My grandma had a "back ally" abortion over 60 years ago that almost killed her. She had 2 young babies and she just didn't think she could handle another so soon. She ended up with 7 kids. My grandma has since passed but I will NEVER forget her telling me about her abortion. It had been over 40+ yrs and she remembered it like it was yesterday. She didn't tell very many about it but she knew how I felt and she was always very open with me. I have seen in WAY too many women how abortion hurts them emotionally and it does (or can) for the rest of their lives. It had an impact on my grandma until she no longer remembered things do to alzheimers (sp). Sorry to get on my soap box there......
Dear Anonymous, thanks for sharing your Grandmother's story. It is sobering to think of her carrying those painful memories until her death. I think that God puts something IN us women: to be the defenders of our children--'Mama Bears.' It doesn't surprise me that women who squelch that instinct/knowledge by aborting their babies feel pain deeply. This is a message that needs to be heard, isn't it?
