Fun in KY and IN

We had a great time at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, and then more fun at our denomination's international conference in Indiana. The kids made friends from all over, and we made a few, too! The teaching by Joel Beeke was fantastic. I will be linking up to one of his talks in particular sometime soon.

We really enjoyed the Creation Museum, and I would definitely say it is worth the expense, if you are ever able to go.  It was a wonderful experience to be in a museum that was so top-notch and that so clearly exalts God and his word and plan in history.

Lovin' on Eli.

Sam was enthralled with this animatronic dinosaur.  He didn't want to leave it!

There was a gorgeous garden on the museum grounds.

Lily was in more pictures than anyone else because she tends to hang out with me more....or maybe she just wants to be close to Eli....?!

So, this statue of John Wesley was right outside our dorm.  Our conference was at Indiana Weslyan University.  Beautiful campus!  Annesley's name is connected with Mr. Wesley, actually.  Anyone know how?

This little chapel was so picturesque.

So, we are home, and most of the laundry is done, and after a restful Lord's Day tomorrow, it will be back to school and the routine again.  It actually felt good to go to the grocery store today and get home to do some baking and cooking.  I think my family appreciated it, too!  We have several projects we would like to tackle around our rental house, but they may have to wait til it cools off a bit...in the meantime, we'll be gearing up for our Classical Conversations year, which is beginning soon.  Have a wonderful week, and thanks for stopping by!

July Check-In

Last Saturday morning, our friends Nate and Joanna were married in a lovely outdoor ceremony behind our church.  Annesley was the flower girl, and Sam, the ring-bearer.  I was pretty nervous about Sam's performance, but it went okay.  I did, however, end up walking down the aisle with the two of them!

Kevin's Mom was here over the Fourth of July, and we had a fun visit.  I didn't get any pictures of her, but do have lots of the kids' water fight!

Our kind neighbor, Debra, often shares flowers with us from her gorgeous garden.

Friday the thirteenth was 'Cow Appreciation Day' at Chick-Fil-A.  What won't we do for free food?!

Here are more wedding-morning pictures....

This is the happy couple, about a week before their big day.  I kept having to ask Nate to look at the camera--he could hardly take his eyes off his sweetheart!  :)

I picked up this little chair for $3 at a garage sale for Lily's doll.  We had fun sitting Elijah in it.  Just his size.  This little guy is on the verge of crawling, loves to coo and 'talk', and makes us all very happy.

Keely has been helping guide some crafts with the littles this summer...

Just one more flower-girl pic!  I love the curls on her little neck!

At first I thought the kids added the last item on their own, but later discovered that Daddy put them up to it.  Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.  :)

As you can see, Noah avoids having his picture taken.  He's been working on moving a large gravel pile in our backyard.

We are heading to Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum later this week, which we are all very excited about!  After that, we'll spend the following week in Indiana at our denomination's international conference.  I'm surrounded by piles and piles of laundry here, and lists and plans are swirling around in my brain!

Hope you all are also enjoying a fun-filled month!
